They should have included a remote control. The only two negatives is the AUX out jack is in the rear of the unit and there isn't a switch to toggle between the XM radio and a AUX sound source so you have to unplug the jack to engage the XM tuners sound. I use the Delphi XpressRC unit and have used this with Bose Speakers on my computer and I would say the sound is computable to these speakers I love this sound system. I own a number of XM Systems, XMAS 100 is the other and I must say this one has the overall fullest and rich sound and I love the portability with the built in antenna. You can get a cheap Delphi remote on eBay for under ten bucks.
The first one lasted for about three uses before the volume controls on the unit started working erratically. The opposite happened when I used the "down" button.
It is possible they keep sending me the same unit, but in any event, they have failed three times to provide me with a functional boom box. I contacted Delphi, sent mine in, and they sent me a replacement.
Shortly thereafter, I couldn't raise the volume enough to hear the radio from a distance of more than a few feet. Now, I have just received my THIRD unit from Delphi, and the first time I plugged it in, the volume controls malfunctioned.
I am now on my third unit. When I used the "up" button, the volume would decrease a few notches before increasing 8-10 notches.
After less than an hour of use, the same thing happened again.
Sounds really good for a small set of speakers. I am definately glad I made this purchase. Product exceeded expectations on every level. Batteries last over 10 hours, unlike reviews I read stating the batteries would be dead after just a few hours.
Family and friends who have heard it remarked how great the sound is. I like that there is no standby light to keep me up at night, as it is by my bed. Fantastic sound with a bass button. I connect my XpressRC unit to it. I was hesitant to buy this because of the price, but I've had it for four months and am delighted with it. It is worth the money. I take it with me to the kitchen, as it has a handy handle.
It has made listening by the pool a joy. :) The reception is crystal clear and the sound is just awesome. I couldn't believe how easy it was to plug in and listen for hours without all the wires. I had almost purchased the same item at a higher price through XM, so happy I checked with Amazon, first. This portable boombox is awesome. This box makes listening to XM outside so simple, before I had a regular cd player the cassette adaptor, the antenna, the power source for MyFi and the power source for the cd player, way too many wires. I would recommend it to anyone who has XM radio.
